FARREL POMINI Holds Grand Opening & Inauguration of New USA Headquarters Facility

FARREL POMINI held a Grand Opening & Inauguration Celebration for its new corporate headquarters facility in Ansonia, CT on May 4-5, 2017.  The two-day event featured a facility tour and demonstrations on May 4, followed by a Continuous Mixer User Seminar on May 5. 

Over 65 customers and other guests attended the event which began on May 4 with a ribbon cutting ceremony that included participation by Dr. Joachim Brenk, Management Board Member, L. Possehl & Co. MbH and Mr. Mark Meulbroek, Managing Director for HF MIXING GROUP as well as local officials.

Immediately following, the guests toured the facility for demonstrations and presentations in numerous departments including:

Process Laboratory
A demonstration of FARREL POMINI Process Laboratory technology and capabilities including a CP550 rotor change and production on the latest addition to the Compact Processor line, the CPeX™ Laboratory Compact Processor.  Also, there was an information session on the Research & Development Team’s use of 3D printing to make product development more efficient.

Project Engineering
An overview of FARREL POMINI’s Project Engineering capabilities that go far beyond providing machinery.  The scope includes:  preliminary engineering, detailed engineering, project management, equipment installation supervision and equipment start-up.

Automation Laboratory
A tour of the dedicated Automation Laboratory to learn the advantages this facility provides to customers.  The session included a live remote access troubleshooting demonstration.

Computer Aided Engineering
All new machines are engineered with 3-Dimensional modeling.  The Engineering Department provided a demonstration of the software and discussion of how this approach eliminates all assembly fitting issues and the other benefits the program yields.

Operations
A 20,000 lb./9,072 kg machine frame was moved on air casters into a state-of-the-art paint booth.  A demonstration of machine leveling prior to shipment ensuring a timely installation at the customer site was given as well as a tour of a custom designed assembly cell and parts’ staging for efficient machine assembly.

Quality Inspection
Quality is very important to our customers and to FARREL POMINI.  There was a demonstration of how key components are inspected using a sophisticated measuring device.

Inventory Control
Inventory parts storage was a significant concern when moving into a streamlined space.  A tour of the shuttle system area and a demonstration of how vertical storage is utilized while maintaining safety was highlighted.

Repair Process
A set of rotors was followed through the repair process.  The tour included a video about our innovative
cleaning method.


At the end of the day, a gala dinner celebration was held under a tent on company grounds.
