The workshop "Mixing of Rubber Compounds" held by the Deutsche Kautschuk Gesellschaft e.V. (German Rubber Society) and the Deutsches Institut für Kautschuktechnologie e.V. (German Institute for Rubber Technology) took place in Freudenberg from May 15th to May 17th, 2013. The seminar was offered in German and English language and with 66 participants from all over the world it was fully booked.
The first part of the seminar consisted of several comprehensive lectures on topics like the configuration and process engineering characteristics of the internal mixer as well as the influence of process parameters on the product properties.
Afterwards the just learned knowledge was practically implemented: The participants had the possibility to implement their own recipes with the Advise ES Control System in our Technical Centre. Thereby they could test the latest tangential and intermeshing rotor technologies.
The participants competed against each other in a challenge with the aim to obtain the best compound in terms of quality within the shortest mixing time.
It was a pleasure for us to accompany the participants in this competition and we are looking forward to the upcoming workshop next year.
