Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH, headquartered in Freudenberg in the German region of Westphalia, acquired the Universal Mixers business area of Coperion GmbH in Stuttgart, effective 1 July 2013.
Harburg-Freudenberger now offers new machines based on the Coperion technology as well as service and spare parts for machines supplied by Coperion.
Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH is part of the HF Mixing Group, the global market leader in the field of high-performance rubber mixing machines and complete compounding facility technology for the tyre and technical rubber goods industry. It unites the business areas of Intermeshing Mixers and Systems & Automation at its Freudenberg location.
Harburg-Freudenberger’s universal mixers are marketed under the name and logo UMIX. Universal Mixers had been previously engineered and manufactured in Freudenberg until 1985, when the predecessors to Coperion and Harburg-Freudenberger were still both part of Werner & Pfleiderer.
UMIX machines differ from conventional internal mixers due to their lighter design and their application with products of medium and low viscosity as well as considerably lower investment and operating costs. Upon request they can be equipped with HF’s state-of-the-art control and automation system ADVISE®.
The acquisition strengthens Harburg-Freudenberger’s product portfolio of mixer series and significantly expands its field of application.
