The twenty-second “Institute of Minerals” Conference took place in South Africa this June.
A multitude of presentations were given to more than one hundred guests of all nationalities.
The presentations showed that there is a lot of progress through new developments not only in the tire sector, but also in Technical Rubber Goods.
Companies are now able to better tailor their compounds for specific applications. In addition, improved testing possibilities are enabling further improvements to the quality of raw materials. Bearing this in mind, the complexity of rubber products has continued to increase.
Ian Wilson, Business Unit Director of Farrel Ltd., won the “Best International Presenter” Award for his lecture on “How to reduce costs of operation via energy savings”.
